Description
The CD4518 is a dual BCD up-counter from the 40xx-series CMOS family, containing two independent synchronous BCD counters. Each counter counts in binary-coded decimal from 0 to 9, generating a carry output upon reaching the terminal count. The synchronous design ensures stable counting across the full range, with buffered outputs for driving external logic.
Operating from 3V to 18V, the CD4518 features a clock-enable input for each counter and a reset input for asynchronous clearing to zero. The device can be cascaded to create multi-digit BCD counters, making it suitable for digital display applications, frequency dividers, and event counters.
