Description
CD4028 – BCD to Decimal Decoder
The CD4028 is a CMOS BCD-to-decimal decoder IC designed to convert binary-coded decimal (BCD) input into a one-of-ten decimal output. It takes a 4-bit BCD input (0000 to 1001) and activates the corresponding one of ten outputs (0–9), with all other outputs remaining LOW. For input codes 1010 to 1111, all outputs remain LOW, ensuring valid BCD decoding only.
This decoder is ideal for numeric display control, digital instrumentation, and other applications where binary-to-decimal conversion is needed.
✅ Key Features:
-
Converts 4-bit BCD input to one-of-ten active LOW outputs
-
High noise immunity and low power consumption (CMOS)
-
All outputs inactive for invalid BCD inputs (1010–1111)
-
Wide supply voltage range: 3V to 15V
-
TTL and CMOS logic compatible
-
Fully static operation
