CD4017 – Decade Counter / Divider with 10 Decoded Outputs

The CD4017 is a CMOS Decade Counter/Divider IC with 10 fully decoded outputs and a carry-out bit. It counts from 0 to 9 sequentially on each clock pulse and sets the corresponding output pin HIGH while keeping the others LOW. This IC is ideal for LED chasers, sequencing applications, timing circuits, and frequency division.
